Description
- Collaborate with Membership to recruit a minimum number of members that represent all titles within 3005. Some titles may have more than 1 representative.
- Work with Membership to solicit contract priorities from members
- Research bargaining process, study existing contracts
- Liaise with negotiator (Ben) that has been assigned to our unit contract
Possible subgroups or projects
- Bring in negotiator to explain structure and terminology of our current (but expired) unit contract
- Lead solicitation process to get proposals from members and for prioritization among demands
- Develop strategy for the inevitable pushback from DC37 leadership
- Collaborate with Shop Stewards to hold contract education sessions on specific parts of the contract for members to be educated and to solicit thoughts on how language could be clarified/improved
- Set up article working groups that take charge of 1-2 particular articles in the contract and make proposals to change it
- Outreach to other locals (like 768) who are covered by the same unit contract
