Political Action Committee (PAC)
Description
- Advocate for policies, legislation, action, and specific candidates (both within DC37/Local 3005 and in NYC at large)
- Interface with DC37 PAC on political matters
- Organize member actions (phone/text banking, canvassing, etc.)
- Develop subgroups that focus on issues important to the broader community (e.g., NY health act, immigration, city/state budgets, retiree healthcare)
- Follow bills at state and city level that have direct implications

Internal
- Research and advice on policies/legislation that impact OCME, DOHMH or public health work
Intra-DC37
- Organize and collaborate with other Locals
External/inter-union
- Organize with other unions on NYC issues
PREPARE TALKING POINTS/PLATFORM ON PRIVATIZATION OF HEALTHCARE BENEFITS
Political education (Coordinate with Membership Committee)
- Book lists/book club, movie screenings, etc.
- Organize talks/events
