Due to a recent Supreme Court ruling that upheld the Trump administration’s ending of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haitians and Syrians, more than 300,000 Haitians and 6,000 Syrians nationwide recently lost their protections that provided work authorization.

July 20 press conference

On July 20, we held a press conference where over 60 members attended and spoke to the importance of improving working conditions. It got a lot of press attention (see below!) and raised awareness of the fact that we don’t get to vote on our contract.
